Strategy & Tactics Guide - Festergut

Festergut is a relatively straightforward encounter that will test your raid's ability to have updated boss mods or use spherical light-sensitive senses located in head to move to the right place.
First off it's better to have alt-tabbed during a raid than to never have working boss mods at all.
Festergut: Just an ordinary gas cloud
Your ranged DPS should spread 8 yards apart so they don't puke on each other. Healers can go stand with the melee, unless for some reason you're running a really melee-stacked raid. Also people that give auras/totems should be located on the melee so that they can reach everyone.

For your tanks: You get a debuff that increases your damage by 10%, but if it gets to 10 stacks you blow the whole raid up. Taunting at 9 would be nice. (also watch threat as you go cat form to DPS).
The meat of this fight comes with the amazing Spore debuff.
Spore: A game that's not like The Sims
As you go into the room you'll notice that you are suddenly breathe noxious orange gas. This is normal and happens to everyone. You might be inclined to ask "What crawled up you and died?" depending on that evening's particular scent but you're almost always better off not knowing the answer.
Anyways, Festergut likes to inhale what is left of the orange you ate earlier. It makes him stronger for some reason. Every fourth inhale he will let it back out (don't ask), dealing 50k shadow damage to everyone.
The way to survive this is to handle his funspores correctly.
Every now and then he will put beautiful spores on people's heads (accompanied by a farting sound). After 12 seconds they will deflate, putting a short DoT on anyone that's close and reducing shadow damage taken by 25%. Both the DoT and the damage reduction stack: you can't just pile all the spores in one place because the DoT would kill you, but you need the damage reduction portion to survive his greenhouse gases.
What you do is the people that were spread out will go and hug each other for a few seconds

Then the people with the spores move to the three different camps to spread the damage reduction.

This is where you need a boss mod that marks the spored people, so you can have marks assigned to going to specific places. Alternatively you can make use of optical instrumentation within your head that will allow you to spot that there is already someone with a spore there and relocate your backside to a group that doesn't.
After you get your Inoculation you shoud spread back out, so you don't end up getting puked on.
Repeat several times. Collect loot.
