Strategy & Tactics Guide - Rotface

Strategy Guides - Icecrown Citadel

Rotface

Rotface is an exciting & dynamic encounter that will challenge your raid's ability to move and look at their monitors instead of their pizza.

Rotface: Two oozes, one cup.

This guide provides battle diagrams with pretty colours.

The fight is the same from 100% to 0%. Big circular room. There's three circles on the ground.

Every 20 seconds ooze will flood out of the walls and cover 1/4 of the outer circle. You don't want to stand in this as it hurts and slows you down.

He has a fun debuff called Mutated Infection. He puts this disease on someone which makes them take some damage. After 15 seconds, or when it gets cleansed, they will spit out an ooze. Little ooze does damage to people near it and likes to spit at stuff in front of it.

If you put two little oozes together they will turn into a big ooze. Now these really do hurt people near them, and if you get spat at because you were standing in front you'll probably die. They also hit like trucks so your off-tank needs to kite these around.

Here's the fun part.

People with Mutated Infection go and run behind the Big Ooze, get dispelled, and run back. Eventually your big ooze will eat five little oozes which upsets its stomach and makes it unstable. It will then start a four second cast, blow up and throw happy fun slimebombs at the place you were standing at. Because we're all standing together they'll all go to the same place. If you don't move quick you die. No pressure.

Rotface also likes to spit at people. This does moderate damage and needs to be healed through. If you're standing in the way you'll get hit by the spit as well, but if you take two steps to the side you won't get splashed by his spit, which is nice. Nature resistance does help mitigate the damage during this fight.

That's pretty much the whole fight. After a while he starts spawning oozes faster. You will also need reasonably good DPS as, more likely than not, your not-so-good DPS probably managed to stand still and died while trying to compete with your good DPS.
